  2. Apply a structured, framework-based approach to preparing for and conducting successful negotiations in both clinical and non-clinical settings.

  3. Recognize common barriers to negotiation (e.g., mindset, cultural norms, workplace dynamics) and develop strategies to overcome them.

  4. Design personalized negotiation strategies to support career optimization, including transitions, pivots, and increased work-life integration.

  5. Evaluate opportunities for improved professional fulfillment through better alignment between personal values, professional goals, and negotiated outcomes.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Rocio Hurtado, is an Infectious Disease Physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston and Faculty at Harvard Medical School since 2003, as well as a dually certified Executive and Health & Well-being Coach for Physicians with a

focus on career transitions, work-life integration & leadership skills. Her medical career spans 3 continents as the Director of the Mycobacterial Center of Excellence at MGH with international projects in Latin America, Africa and Asia. On the Faculty

Development front, since 2019 she has served as a Senior Certified Physician Coach for the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Physician Well-being and has additional training in Negotiation from Harvard Law School. She has led highly successful Career Development workshops leveraging the principles of negotiation to access new positions, narrow disparities in compensation and re-craft a more sustainable and meaningful career. In 2018 Dr. Hurtado founded an external coaching practice MD Catalyst dedicated exclusively to physicians and healthcare professionals looking to re-design their careers, develop their leadership potential & amp; access new opportunities within and outside of Medicine.
