ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Elsbeth Kalenderian, D.D.S., M.P.H., Ph.D., is Dean and Professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She has held leadership roles at top institutions, including Harvard School of Dental Medicine, University of California San Francisco, and Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam. Her career spans clinical practice, research, and academic leadership, reflecting a commitment to excellence in oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental education.
Dr. Kalenderian earned her D.D.S. from Rijks Universiteit Groningen, completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency as a Fulbright Scholar at Boston University, and holds an M.P.H. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on dental public health, patient safety, quality improvement, dental diagnostic terminologies, and the application of informatics in dental settings, supported by grants from the NIH and AHRQ.
A recognized thought leader, Dr. Kalenderian has been invited to present at national and international conferences on leadership, dental education, patient safety, and quality improvement. Her work bridges clinical excellence, research innovation, and academic leadership. In her current role, she continues to inspire the next generation of dental professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, resilience, and service in academic dentistry.
