  2. Understand the underlying mechanisms (developmental, genetic, environmental) contributing to these anomalies.

  3. Apply effective diagnostic tools, such as MRI, ultrasound, and angiography, to accurately assess vascular lesions.

  4. Evaluate current treatment modalities, including surgery, pharmacotherapy, and emerging non-invasive techniques, to choose the best approach for each case.

  5. Manage patient care comprehensively, addressing aesthetic, functional, and psychological implications and coordinating multidisciplinary teams

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Srinivasa Rama Chandra is a highly experienced maxillofacial and head & neck surgeon with specialized expertise in vascular anomalous conditions of the head and neck. His clinical and academic background includes:

  • Extensive surgical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction.

  • Expertise in the diagnosis and management of vascular lesions such as birthmarks and other blood-vessel abnormalities.

  • Experience treating craniofacial trauma and salivary gland/facial pathology.

  • Publications in leading peer-reviewed journals including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America, Journal of Vascular Surgery, and Gland Surgery.

  • Academic role at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Department of Head & Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery
