  1. Describe the clinical features of ICR and TMJ-only JIA and recognize key differences in presentation.

  2. Understand the histopathologic characteristics that distinguish these two conditions.

  3. Evaluate diagnostic approaches and criteria to improve differential diagnosis.

  4. Discuss challenges and controversies in differentiating ICR from TMJ-only JIA for optimal patient management.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Fernanda Boos LimaDMD, MSc, PhD, Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, UFMG

Dr. Fernanda Boos Lima is an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. She holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), a Master's degree (MSc), and a PhD in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Lima has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex TMJ disorders, including Idiopathic Condylar Resorption (ICR), and is actively involved in clinical research focused on surgical interventions and multidisciplinary approaches to TMJ pathologies.
