ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Susan Heredero is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon known for her dedication to surgical education, residency training, and mentorship. With extensive experience in hospital-based practice and academic environments, she has guided residents through the clinical, technical, and emotional challenges inherent to surgical training.

Her professional focus includes comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of structured learning pathways for young surgeons. Dr. Heredero is particularly recognized for addressing topics that are often under-discussed in surgical education—such as resilience, time management, mental well-being, leadership development, and maintaining motivation during demanding residency years.

Through her lectures, including “How to Survive my Residency?”, she provides practical strategies, real-life insights, and evidence-based approaches to help residents navigate workload pressures, academic expectations, operating room learning curves, and work-life balance. Her message emphasizes that success in residency requires not only clinical skill but also mindset, discipline, support systems, and self-care.
