Surgery is recommended for diverse clinical situations involving the temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) and adjacent structures that necessitate invasive procedures. Due to its intricate location in close proximity to vital maxillofacial structures, achieving surgical exposure and access to the TMJ poses a significant challenge. Surgeons must possess a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy to execute a secure dissection and successfully expose the TMJ. Dr. Pastore will provides detailed insights into the various approaches utilized to access the joint, outlining the advantages and limitations associated with each, as well as a concise explanation of the rationale guiding the selection of an optimal indication for specific clinical scenarios.

SPEAKER: Gabriel Pastore is a world known specialist in TMJ surgery. He graduated in Dentistry and received a PhD from UNICAMP. He is  an IEP Professor – Hopsital Sirio Libanes, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Freiburg / Germany and Baptist Health South Florida Fellow – AT Arthroscopy.
