ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Rogelio Miguel Cordero López is the Director of the School of Dentistry at Pedro Enriquez Ureña National University (UNPHU), a position he has held since 2006. He graduated as a Doctor of Oral Surgery from UNPHU in 1984 and completed his postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1987. He further pursued internships in this specialty in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Puerto Rico.With over three decades of experience in private practice, Dr. Cordero also serves as the Head of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Juan Pablo Pina Regional Hospital. Since 2018, he has presided over the Organization of Dentistry Faculties, Schools, and Departments in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dr. Cordero has dedicated more than 20 years to the Children Who Laugh Foundation, leading surgical missions to treat cleft lip and palate in children. He is an honorary member of the Society of Maxillofacial Surgery of Venezuela, an honorary citizen of the Province of Espaillat, and has been honored by the Hispanic Dental Association for his distinguished professional career.

He has published in the Journal of the Dominican College of Dentists and AULA Journal and remains an active member of the Dominican College of Dentists, the Dominican Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Latin American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology.
