TITLE
Rui Fernandes : Reconstruction of Challenging Defects - Lessons learned
TALK INFO
Reconstruction of challenging defects in head and neck surgery presents a unique set of complexities that require a deep understanding of both anatomical intricacies and advanced surgical techniques. Lessons learned from addressing these defects often emphasize the importance of meticulous planning and a multidisciplinary approach. Surgeons have discovered that successful reconstruction relies not only on technical skill but also on the ability to anticipate and manage potential complications, such as tissue viability and functional restoration. Innovations in reconstructive strategies, such as free tissue transfers and 3D-printed prosthetics, have greatly improved outcomes, but they also highlight the need for continuous learning and adaptation. Dr. Fernandes will share invaluable insights
