“MRONJ — Review and Update” was an educational online session that provided a comprehensive review of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) and the latest updates in diagnosis and management. ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Salvatore L. Ruggiero, DMD, MD, FACS
Dr. Ruggiero is an expert in oral and maxillofacial surgery with extensive experience in MRONJ and related conditions. He is affiliated with the New York Center for Orthognathic and Maxillofacial Surgery and serves as Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Stony Brook University as well as Clinical Professor at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Ruggiero is co-author of the widely referenced MRONJ position papers for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), including the 2022 update, making him a leading authority on current consensus recommendations and evolving clinical strategies for MRONJ care.
