ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Prof. Risimati Ephraim Rikhotso BDS (Wits), MDent (Wits), PhD (Wits), FCMFOS-SA earned his BDS in1993 and completed his specialist training inMaxillofacial and Oral Surgery at the University ofthe Witwatersrand in 2002. He subsequentlyobtained his MDent in 2005 and a PhD in 2019. AFellow of the College of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery since 2003, he is currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand. Prof. Rikhotso has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at numerous international conferences. His research interests focus on total temporomandibular joint reconstruction, head and neck oncology, craniofacial trauma, and the treatment of condylar fractures. He is also actively involved in mentoring the next generation of surgeons and contributes to the development of innovative surgical techniques.
