ABOUT THE SPEAKER Dr. Amber Leis, MD, FACS is a is a plastic hand surgery specialist, educator, and leader, serving as an associate professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.. Previously, she led the residency program and served as division chief of plastic hand surgery at UC Irvine. Dr. Leis received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by plastic surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center and a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery at USC Keck School of Medicine. She is board-certified in both plastic surgery and hand surgery. Her clinical and research interests include Dupuytren's contracture, congenital hand differences, and brachial plexus birth injury. She has been an active contributor to the surgical community, serving on committees for organizations like the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Leis is also a founding member of the PREPPED program for underrepresented minority students. Dr. Leis is committed to advancing plastic surgery education and research and is excited to continue making an impact globally. CE ACCREDITATION surgeOn is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider.
