Drawing from her experience as a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, anesthesia evaluator, and author of the Crash Cart Quick Guide, Dr. Yalamanchili reviews the most common office emergencies, discusses current emergency protocols, and shares practical methods for organizing crash carts, assigning team roles, and improving emergency preparedness through training and simulation.

Participants will leave with actionable recommendations to strengthen patient safety and enhance their practice's readiness when every second counts.

SPEAKER

Sumitra C. Yalamanchili, DDS, MPH, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Maryland. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University. She completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center/Seton Hall University, serving as Chief Resident.

Dr. Yalamanchili has extensive experience in office-based anesthesia, hospital-based oral and maxillofacial surgery, and emergency preparedness. She currently serves as an Anesthesia Evaluator for the Maryland State Board of Dentistry and maintains hospital privileges at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center and Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

A multiple-time Baltimore Magazine "Top Doc," Dr. Yalamanchili has authored peer-reviewed publications in oral surgery and sleep apnea and is the author of the Crash Cart Quick Guide (2025), a practical chairside reference developed to help dental teams prepare for and effectively manage medical emergencies.
