About the event

In this experience-driven lecture, Dr. Haithem Elhadi Babiker shares key insights and practical lessons learned in the management of orthognathic surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate. The session explores the unique anatomical, functional, and psychosocial challenges associated with cleft-related maxillofacial deformities, including maxillary hypoplasia, asymmetry, and scar-related tissue limitations.

Dr. Babiker discusses comprehensive treatment planning within a multidisciplinary cleft team, timing of surgery, presurgical orthodontic considerations, and surgical techniques tailored to cleft patients. Emphasis is placed on relapse prevention, velopharyngeal function, speech outcomes, and long-term stability.
