About the event
Dr. David Ahn’s talk, "Clinical Application of Augmented Reality in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery" explores the integration of AR technology to enhance surgical precision and visualization. He demonstrates how overlaying 3D anatomical data onto the operative field supports accurate planning and real-time navigation during complex procedures. With a focus on current advancements and ongoing challenges, Dr. Ahn offers valuable insights into the future of AR in improving surgical outcomes, training, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lecture, participants will be able to:
Describe the principles of augmented reality (AR) and its integration into craniomaxillofacial surgical planning and execution.
Explain the clinical workflows that incorporate AR for enhanced visualization, precision, and intraoperative navigation.
Discuss case-based outcomes demonstrating the advantages of AR in improving surgical accuracy, reducing operative time, and enhancing patient safety.
Evaluate the challenges, limitations, and future potential of augmented reality technologies in both high-resource and resource-limited surgical settings
