About the event

Salivary gland lesions are among the most diverse and challenging conditions encountered in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Patients may present with similar symptoms, yet the underlying diagnosis can range from inflammatory and obstructive disorders to benign neoplasms and aggressive malignancies. Successful management requires the surgeon to integrate clinical examination, imaging, pathology, and sound surgical judgment.

In this lecture, Dr. Balasubramanya Kumar will provide a practical, case-based approach to the evaluation and management of salivary gland disease. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in head and neck surgery and oral oncology, he will discuss diagnostic strategies, common pitfalls, and surgical decision-making in both benign and malignant salivary gland pathology.

Through clinical cases and operative insights, participants will learn how to approach salivary gland lesions systematically, recognize red flags for malignancy, and optimize treatment planning. The session will highlight the critical intersection between diagnosis, pathology, and surgery that ultimately determines patient outcomes.
