FACULTY

Maria Troulis, DDS, MSc is the Walter C. Guralnick Distinguished Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard Medical School, and a surgeon in the Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

An internationally recognized expert in craniofacial surgery, Dr. Troulis has extensive experience in the management of complex facial trauma, including panfacial injuries and reconstructive sequencing in high-acuity cases. Her work integrates advanced surgical technique with structured clinical decision-making in challenging and evolving operative scenarios.

She trained at McGill University and completed advanced fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital in pediatric cranio-maxillofacial surgery. At Harvard, she has held key leadership roles including OMFS Residency Program Director and Department Chair, shaping surgical training and advancing standards in craniofacial care.

Dr. Troulis is widely respected for her expertise in operative sequencing, interdisciplinary coordination, and reconstruction in severe facial injury, and is a recipient of multiple awards for excellence in mentoring and education. She serves as North American Clinical Lead for surgeON and Associate Editor of the AO CMF Trauma & Reconstruction Journal.
