About the event
Surgical training is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Workforce shortages, evolving clinical complexity, changing trainee expectations, and the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic are reshaping how we prepare tomorrow’s surgeons.
Drawing from landmark research on fellowship training trends, including national analyses of hand surgery and reconstructive training pathways, this session explores how mentorship, leadership development, and training structures must evolve to meet the needs of modern surgical practice.
Moving beyond specialty silos, this lecture delivers practical strategies relevant to every surgeon — whether in academic medicine, hospital systems, or private practice — addressing mentorship models, leadership cultivation, and the transition into early clinical practice.
Participants will gain actionable insights into building resilient surgical careers, optimizing educational systems, and shaping training environments that foster excellence, adaptability, and professional fulfillment.
This session is essential viewing for surgeons invested in the future of surgical education, leadership, and lifelong professional growth.
